STOCKTON will be showcased in the latest episode of the StreetVelodrome's TV series.

Episode three of StreetVelodrome’s 2016 national cycle racing series is being aired nationwide on the Bike Channel (Sky 464, Virgin 552, Freesat 251) on December 20 at 10pm.

StreetVelodrome is a travelling, pop-up velodrome, with steep, fast, banked corners that is accessible to members of the public and Professional Racers for one day per year in each region of the UK.

Regional race teams, comprised of one female and one male, are pitted against each other on matching single-speed Forme road bikes to compete for fastest in the nation.

At each round, the teams pick up the fastest members of the public to join them in the SuperFinals. It all plays out in front of television cameras, making for an exciting race spectacle and a TV programme full of interesting characters.

Stockton’s new High Street, during the excitement of the festival of Cycling earlier this year, was the setting for StreetVelodrome this summer, drawing the attention of thousands of cycling enthusiasts.

The Angels of the North which feature in the latest show are made up of Manchester's Jessica Watts, national level track and road bike racer, Wakefield's international freerider Patrick Robinson and Jack Ambler, local sponsored dirt jumper, from York.

They fly the flag for the North of England against Team Cornwall, Team London, the Belfast Titans, South Coast Rollers and the Suffolk Saints.
