MODEL Lara Stone – Mrs David Walliams – says she hated being pregnant and had to give up work after a few weeks. Tricky when your body’s your fortune.
Although she dotes on 14-monthold son Alfred she admits – in the absence of nearby grandparents – she regularly has to leave him with nanny for a couple of days when she and David have to work. They also have other help to make their busy lifestyle work.
Thank goodness for that. Too many celebrity mums give the impression once they’ve given birth they spend all their days utterly absorbed in their children and the full domestic bit, apparently effortlessly tending to their child’s every need – and probably pureeing organic veg they’ve grown themselves – while still looking serene and unruffled and utterly fulfilled –making the rest of us feel hopelessly inadequate.
Peaches Geldof, sadly, was a recent example. So how refreshing to have something a bit more realistic.
