Looking forward to meeting Denys Smith, the man who brought Grand National glory to Bishop Auckland with Red Alligator in 1968.
I was six at the time and it's my first memory of a Grand National. Denys is 90 this month so it's an opportune time to reflect on his life.
And guess where I'm meeting him? In the Red Alligator pub at South Church.
