It is fair to say there has been a heated reaction to our new syndicated weather panel.
We've had a lot of calls about the sun turning a "gloomy" blue. Readers miss it being "cheery" yellow, with one saying: "It really cheered me up in the morning when I saw a yellow sun peeking out from behind a cloud."
The feedback has been passed on to the sydnication service and, one way or another, we're going to try to make the sun rise again in The Northern Echo.
In the meantime, more complaints have come in about the loss of the tide times in the weather panel. Most papers involved in the syndication service no longer required tide times so they were dropped.
Readers of The Northern Echo, however, have waded in. They want the tide times in their local paper - especially walkers and anglers. The tides have, therefore, been restored this morning.
