ON July 22, 2011 in Norway, government buildings were bombed, resulting in the deaths of eight people. A further 69 people, mainly teenagers, were killed in a mass shootout at a summer camp on the picturesque island of Utoya.
Anders Behring Breivik had spent years meticulously planning his killing spree, but all this came after being diagnosed with psychological problems at a young age.
His parents had divorced and the strain of his troubled family life began to show as early as the age of four. Despite being a rebellious teen, he was well regarded at school and eventually settled into a regular job.
However, Breivik later became a social recluse, and stated that his actions were to save Norway and western Europe from a Muslim takeover. The documentary profiles his life and horrendous crimes.
