SATURDAY is usually Nordic noir night, thanks to BBC4. Now More4 is making sure we get our fix of subtitled Scandi-scandals a day early, with new Norwegian crime thriller Mammon.
The six-part series follows six days in the life of journalist Peter Veras, as he uncovers evidence of wide-reaching fraud involving everyone from the country’s most important figures to members of his own family. Despite the ties to his personal life and their potential ramifications, he goes ahead with the story, but is wholly unprepared for the consequences once it’s printed.
Jon Oigarden, Terje Stromdahl and Lena Kristin Ellingsen star in this utterly compelling dark drama, which is more than a match for anything in the Beeb’s stable.
