LAST week viewers were treated to Turks & Caicos, the eagerly-awaited second part of David Hare’s trilogy of dramas about British agent Johnny Worricker. Hats off to the casting genius who teamed up Bill Nighy and Christopher Walken for that one.
In fact, the only drawback was that we’d had to wait nearly three years between Worricker instalments – his first outing came in 2011’s Page Eight. Thankfully, no such gap exists between the second and concluding part, Salting The Battlefield.
This time, Worricker and Margaret Tyrrell are on the run across Europe, with MI5 snapping at their heels. Neither of them had expected life in exile to be so difficult, so Worricker makes a decision that will change his life forever – it’s time to confront the all-powerful Prime Minister, Alec Beasley.
Saskia Reeves, Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter are among the allstar cast.
