There's been a great response to our wristband appeal in aid of the 3 Rifles who are serving in Afghanistan.
As explained on yesterday's blog and in today's paper, the battalion has a special affinity with the North-East, having grown out of the Durham Light Infantry.
We are supporting the 3 Rifles' appeal to raise money for injured soldiers and the families of those killed in the conflict.
We'd sold out of wristbands in our Bishop Auckland office this morning by 10.15am. That's a sign of the affection the town holds for local hero Corporal Lee Brownson who died recently.
The public response has been so positive that we've also now sold out in Darlington.
We've asked for more wristbands to be sent and we'll let our readers know when they arrive.
In the meantime, many thanks for all your support.
