I never cease to be touched by people's kindness.
I've just had an email from Councillor Brian Myers, chairman of Durham County Council, about his appeal to raise £10,000 to buy a new set of artificial legs for Crook teenager Lyndon Longhorne.
Lyndon, 14, lost both legs and part of an arm when he was struck down with meningitis as a baby.
He is now winning medals in national disability events and his story is one of the most inspiring I have ever dealt with.
We decided to support Brian's appeal to buy Lyndon a new, more modern set of legs and I'm delighted to say that it is proving a huge success.
Brian tells me in his email this morning how he visited a housebound 89-year-old yesterday after she contacted him about the appeal. She handed over a £20 note.
How wonderful is that?
