Morning Readers! I hope you've all had a better week than I have. I've had a couple of bad days eating and a fall which has resulted in me having a 5.5lb gain.

To say I'm gutted would be an understatement. I do have a lot of falls due to my M.E. and have hurt myself quite badly. Thankfully, this time, other than a few bruises, aches and pains, I haven't done too much damage.

Last time it was down a full flight of stairs resulting in me ending up at A+E. I have had to take pain relief and unfortunately, I always have a reaction to them which makes my legs swell and retain water.

I've always said I won't make excuses and I continue to stick to that. I know it's possible I would have had a smaller gain anyway but certainly not the the amount I did gain.

I'm going to work so hard this week so that I can lose those rotten lbs. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Hasta La Vista lbs!"

What do you do after you've had a gain? Does it give you the kick that you need to get back on track? Or does it knock you even further down so that you blow your weight loss altogether?

In the past I would have blown the weight loss completely and give up gaining all the weight I'd lost plus gaining a whole lot more too.

This time round, it's given me the kick I need to get back on track and keep going. I've come too far to give up now. For those of you who have had a gain this week or have fallen off the weight loss waggon over the past few weeks, is it really too late to get back on track.

Let's do it together and see the fantastic results next week. As a friend said to me, "You might have fallen off the waggon, but it's never too far away to catch up and climb back on it!

Think of the exercise you can do as you try to catch it up!" Come on Readers! We can do it!

Anyone For Tennis?

It won't be long before Wimbledon will be upon us. It's the 2 weeks where we dream of a British Champion and yet it never seems to happen.

This year I think it will be more of a wash out judging by the weather forecast. On a positive note, it's a great time to eat strawberries which are great on any healthy eating plan. It's what we put on them that causes the problems.

I'm going to show you a recipe that I know you'll love which is very low in calories.

It's a Strawberry Gateaux and it tastes delicious. You could eat the whole cake and not wreck your plan for the week. At Slimming World we allow ourselves between 5 and 15 syns a day for treats.

The whole cake is only half a syn so it's definitely worth trying.

Half A Syn Gateaux

Ingredients

1 Tub of Quark
4 Eggs
1 Tsp of Baking Powder
4 Tbs of Sweetener
Vanilla Essence
Fresh Strawberries

Method

1. Preheat the oven at 180.

2. Separate the egg whites from the yolks then mix together the yolks, half the tub of quark, baking powder and 2 tsp of vanilla essence using an electric whisk.

3. Whisk the egg whites in a separate bowl, then whisk half the egg whites into the mixture then fold in the other half of the egg whites.

4. Line a cake tin with baking paper, then pour in the mixture.

5. Place in the oven for 15-20 mins (10 if using a fan assisted oven) 6. Allow the cake to cool then cut in half 7. Mix the rest of the quark with the sweetener and more vanilla essence. Spread it across the middle of the cake and put fresh strawberries in the middle. Add the top on the cake and place fresh strawberries on the top.

I can guarantee it will be a success and it won't spoil your weight loss. You can even serve it at a dinner party and your guests will enjoy it. Let me know what you think of it?

So far today I've been good and I intend to be good for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed I do manage it this week without any falls or other mishaps.

See you lighter next week, Love Wendy
