Morning everyone! I hope you're all managing to stay dry in this very wet weather and you've had a great week with your weight loss. I've had a mixed week and have gained 1.5lb which will be gone next week.

I started off the week being really good sticking rigidly to the eating plan. The trouble started on Saturday. A few weeks ago I was at the Christening and we also got tickets to see Derby County play at Pride Park Stadium. Unfortunately our car broke down so we never got to the match but Derby County Football Club were extremely kind and offered to swap our tickets for another match. We decided to go to the last match of the season but we'd have to go there and back in one day. Unfortunately, I failed to prepare for the day and therefore prepared to fail.

We set off at 6am as the kick off was at 12:30 and we know parking can be difficult. We didn't take any meals with us and needed something to eat throughout our day. Around the ground, there are plenty of eating places, the only trouble is, none of them fit in with our healthy eating plan so we ended up having burger and fries.

If I'd planned ahead like I normally do, it wouldn't have been a problem but because I hadn't, my treats spiralled out of control. I'd tasted things that I used to eat and I really enjoyed it. The trouble is, I enjoyed it too much and I found it really difficult to get the control back on Sunday. I was back on the path of self destruction.

By the end of Monday, I'd managed to get myself back on track but it was so hard to do. Do you find it hard to get back in control? It shocked me when I saw how easy it was to lose that control and I certainly don't intend to go back there. I will lose this 1.5lb next week and get back on track.I know this weekend will be tough for many of you as Bank Holiday Weekends can be a time when you tend to indulge more. Some of you may have a night out planned whereas others may have the Children around as they're off school.

Whatever the situation is that you have to face, remember to plan ahead. Save your treats up for that night out or have a tasty snack to hand, when the children have their sweets. If you do lose control, draw a line under that day and start afresh the next day. As I always say, it's never too late to start again. Tune in next week to see if I manage to lose those stubborn 1.5lbs.

This Pizza Recipe Is "Smash"ing!

One of the main items I've cut down on in my healthy eating plan is bread. It's a major downfall for me as if I was feeling peckish, it was easy to pick up a couple of slices and make some toast with butter on. In one day, I could easily eat 8 slices per day which is not good. Now I rarely eat bread as I know it would be too easy to go back to my old habits. One thing I do miss is pizza. I used to love a meat feast pizza but to be honest, I don't think my body could tolerate the fat content these days as it's just not used to it. We talked about it in our Slimming World group and our consultant shared a recipe that at first, I have to admit, sounded awful. I tried it and was amazed at how much I really enjoyed it.I've included the recipe below and I'm sure you will enjoy it along with your family too.

Smashing Pizza.

Ingredients.

1 Packet of Smash.

Tomato Puree or Passata.

Mixed Peppers.

1 Onion.

Lean Bacon and Ham.

Mozzarella Cheese.

Method.

1. Preheat the oven to 190/Gas Mark 5.

2. Make up the packet of smash using half the water indicated on the packet.

3. Roll out the smash dough mixture and place on a baking tray.

4. Add the tomato puree or passata (you could add herbs and garlic to this if you wish).

5. Add the peppers, onions, bacon and ham then top with the grated mozzarella cheese.

6. Place in the oven for 15 mins or until golden brown.

Serve with a lovely salad. Instead of bacon and ham, you could also use lean chicken breast coated in Cajun spice or barbecue spice. You could use the cheese and onion smash to add yet more delicious flavours.

This would be a great healthy meal to serve the family this bank holiday weekend. It's something that everyone would enjoy but most of all, it's cheap and filling too. Let me know what you think of it. I was very pleasantly surprised. What are your downfall foods? Do you give in when you have a craving for them or do you battle on bravely? Let me know as there may well be an alternative which tastes just as good but without the high calorie price tag.

Summer is almost upon us, even if the weather seems to have forgotten it. This is the time we really need to get back on track so we can lose those lbs in order to look and feel great on our holidays or even just to wear those short sleeved tops and knee length skirts when we do get the beautiful summer weather. Let's do it together.

See you lighter next week, Love Wendy xxx
