Morning Readers! Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of weeks. I've had some difficult events in my life to deal with which has unfortunately resulted in me gaining 10lb in 3 weeks.

I'm pleased to say I'm back and once again, raring to go. This last week I lost 2lb and although I still have a long way to go, it's a step in the right direction.

We all get tough times in our lives and we have no control over when these times will come but at the end of the day, the one thing we can be in control of is what we put in our mouths. I know for a fact that I was eating for comfort.

I am definitely an emotional eater. The past few weeks have been very emotional for me but no matter how bad things get, I need to remain in control of what I eat. I didn't enjoy the comfort foods. I'm not used to eating junk and I have to say it made me feel very sick yet I still carried on.

I missed one Slimming World Group due to circumstances and the following week I couldn't stay due to a hospital appointment and I have to say, missing the support from Carol, my Consultant, and my group really didn't help me. I have to say though, Carol had been an absolute diamond through the week and is always on hand should you need support in between groups. She's helped me make sense of why I was wrecking all my hard work.

The following week I was able to stay to group and it really does make all the difference. the combination of Carol and the support from my group has really got me fired up to get back on track and get these lbs off. This week we even had what they call "Woman Of The Year Awards". It's where we get to vote for someone in group who we think inspires us the most. I'm extremely honoured to say that I was nominated. Although I didn't win, I was thrilled that people think I'm an inspiration to them. I've never ever seen myself as an inspiration before but it's really nice to hear it.

If you're struggling with your weight loss journey, why not come along and join us on a Wednesday at Brandon Community Hall in County Durham at 9:30am or 7pm. We're a friendly bunch who are all there for the same reason. if you're worried about making that first step through the door, please don't be. It's a positive step for a healthier and happier future. I'll be back with more recipe ideas next time.

See you lighter next week, Love Wendy xxx
