Morning Everyone! Did you manage to get the results you wanted on the scales? Unfortunately I started off having a great week and then ruined it all the night before my weigh in. What a Muppet I am! I went for the comfort food and therefore gained 2.5lb.

I could make all the excuses under the sun but at the end of the day, excuses won't get me to my target weight. I am responsible for what I put in my mouth and therefore I am responsible for demolishing a pack of curly wurlys.

I could say that I didn't enjoy them but that would be a lie. I felt I needed them and I enjoyed every single bite. I may well have enjoyed every bite but I didn't enjoy the reality of hearing the numbers on the scales and the feeling that I'd let myself down by my own greed and stupidity. I'm sure most, if not all of us can relate to this.

I don't know why we feel the need to self sabotage. I wish I did have the answers because I could then work on a solution to avoid it. Still, it's in the past. We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and get back on track. For me, having had stern words with myself. "Stop mucking around and get your head back into gear!"

On a really positive note, our Slimming World Group were celebrating our target members who have lost their weight and are managing to maintain and keep it off. Me reaching target seems like a distant dream at the moment but it's really inspirational to hear about their struggles and how they overcame them, but also how well they are doing now. It gives me hope that one day I will be a target member.

I also met up with a friend I haven't seen in over 4 years. To say she looks amazing would be a understatement. She has worked extremely hard and has lost a phenomenal 16st 7lb. She has lost over half her original body weight and looks absolutely stunning. Seeing her today has certainly made me realise that it really is possible to achieve my dream. I CAN do this and I WILL do this!

Pasta Arrabiata
(Serves 4)

Ingredients:

Fry Light Spray

1 small Onion, peeled and thinly sliced

3 Garlic Cloves peeled and crushed

A pinch of dried Mixed Herbs

1 tsp dried Chilli Flakes

500g Passata

Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper

500g wholewheat Penne Pasta

Freshly chopped flat-leaf Parsley, to garnish

Method:

1. Spray a large saucepan with low calorie cooking oil spray and place over a medium heat. Cook the onion, garlic, herbs and chilli flakes for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the passata and season to taste. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Meanwhile cook the pasta according to the packet instructions and drain. Add the pasta to the sauce and mix well. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with a crisp green salad.

You could add Red Chillies instead of using the flakes. You could also make the sauce in advance and freeze it so it's there when you want it. Remember though, the pasta won't freeze and will need to be cooked on the day you use the sauce.

Don't lose heart if you've had a bad week. Tomorrow is another day and one bad week doesn't have to spoil the other 51 weeks of the year.

See you lighter next week and hopefully I'll be lighter too, Love Wendy .
