Dear Doofus,
WHAT are you thinking letting the tellers go to lunch......at lunchtime when the bank is it's busiest? I mean, really! America hires part time people to come in and work from 11 AM to 2:30 PM to
"cover lunches".
Wow, what a plan! You, on the other hand, have one teller with her window open at 2 PM. Oh, excuse me, there were TWO "working", but as you have no special window for business accounts, people with carrier bags full of money line up with the common folk and proceed to hold everyone up while the teller verifies the cash. So, this afternoon, as I tried to deposit my pathetic £10 in 10 pence coins that I've been saving for months, we stood for over fifteen minutes while some oblivious and brain dead woman held up one teller with signing papers and changing accounts and asking for a loan.
The other teller was busy counting stacks and stacks of cash from a business customer. The queue/line was to the door, and no one seemed to care. (we did) People who have account problems should go to the back where MAYBE POSSIBLY more than one person is working??? I blame the teller more than the customer, as the teller shouldn't have even started doing what she was doing and should have referred "Ms. Downmarket Brain Dead and Badly Dressed" to Customer Service. I remembered today why I never ever actually go in the bank. JB has no patience at all and when I point this out and say "patience is a virtue", he responds with "Patience is a stupid Christian name." (And they say Brits have no sense of humour) I beg to differ in this case.
I know I rave on and on about how shops here actually close down at lunchtime, and Pharmacists go to lunch and you can't get a prescription filled because the workers aren't "allowed" to fill them unless the Pharmacist is "standing there"...but this bank thing takes the prize. I tried to find an address online to email them and there is none. If you have a complaint, they want you to call them and pay for the call. We all know that just ain't gonna happen.
Thank you for listening, and y'all have a real nice day.
