Help Them

You may have seen the article on the front page of 4th December Northern Echo, but if you missed it, County Durham Community Foundation has set up a Winter Relief Fund with the aim of giving extra funding to groups who are supporting elderly and homeless people during the cold Winter months.

An initiative that was sparked by the Northern Echo's call for action to check on elderly neighbours and volunteer for charities such as Age UK, we are hoping that it will really take off and raise much needed cash at this difficult time.

We know times are hard right now, but there may be some who receive the Government's Winter Fuel Payment who perhaps can manage without it and would donate it to this appeal.

Please visit the Northern Echo website for more information, our website cdcf.org.uk or call Christina Rackley at our office 0191 378 6340; email christina@cdcf.org.uk; cheques can be made payable to County Durham Community Foundation marked on the reverse 'Winter Relief Fund'.

Groups who support elderly and homeless groups should call 0191 378 6340 for more information of how to apply.
