Peter Barnes
In last weeks blog ‘Weight up’ I told the story of how Peter Barnes had cycled to Woodland and called at all the pubs on the way back. After a chat with Peter on Sunday, it seems I got a few facts wrong!
I’d told how Peter had called at The Edge, Harry Boys, Top House, The Diamond, Staggies and on to the Club and Middle House. Well, after a chat with the intrepid cyclist, it seems I missed out The Malt Shovel at Wham and a further couple of pints in the Bottom House!
Peter insists the only mistake he made was going back up to The Middle House for a ‘One for the road’!!
Happy to put the record straight!!

Not related to this blog, but earlier tonight I sat and watched a Rod Stewart concert, and remembered Vivian Liddle liking Rod many moons ago, just wondered if she still did, Irene Lamb was David Cassidy, Sandra Eagan was Michael Jackson, Karen Jobling was Elvis, I was Cliff Richard, our Harry was Quo. Sat now watching Bad company at Wembley 2010 and that took me back to Gary Russell and the straight shooter LP. Just wondered if folks feel the same now about bands as they did in their teenage years. Thanks again for the news from Cockfield, its great to read about it even though I am not a part of it any more, although I will always believe that a part of me will always belong to Cockfied.

Yes its me. I am not into Cliff like I used to be, I got into Heavy Metal, I guess cos my brother played it non stop 24-7. We are in Qatar at the moment but not much call for head bangers out here:( I hear our Andrew is doing well with the Middle House, might have to pay a visit this year. Take care xx Lor
