9:15pm Thursday 8th December 2011 in Cockfield
This time last year the Middle House was closed, a cold and desolate looking place surrounded with drifting snow. Then, Andrew Pattison and his partner Sandra took on the tenancy and the rest, as they say, is history!
Patty and Sas (As they are better known as in Cockfield) threw their heart and soul into their new business and with Patty, being a builder and general handyman by trade, started to transform the interior of the once popular pub.
I have to say at this point that it’s a pity Camerons Brewery haven’t put the same effort in with the outside of the premises but, this doesn’t seem to have dented Patty and Sas’s enthusiasm from taking the pub from strength to strength.
Anyway, on Saturday 10th December, the natural born landlord and landlady will be holding a disco/karaoke to celebrate their first year in the Middle House. It’s proved to be a phenomenal success and in true style, we’ve now come to expect, a night of partying and fun.
Well done Patty and Sas… Here’s to many more happy years!

Grand stuff, good for Pat and Sas, village needs good place for beer and banter. One of my most memorable weekends was being snowed in the village, which meant snowed in middle house. Jack was running out of beer, we were suppn bottled stuff he'd not shifted for months in the end....and the fire was constantly roaring, pub was chocka...what a laugh
