A WOMAN plans to conquer Wales by bike this summer in aid of a mental health charity.

Lynsey Brough will cycle the Wales End to End challenge in August– covering 260 miles and climbing 28,000ft in three days.

Sponsorship money she raises will be donated to Mind.

The 35-year-old, who was originally from Eggleston and went to Teesdale School in Barnard Castle, said: “I chose to support Mind having learnt of the work they do and being aware of emotional and mental health difficulties around me.

“They money raised will pay for staff to be on the phone, internet support and counsellors to help people.”

The quantitative surveyor, who works for VEST Construction which is building the Auckland Tower, is a keen cyclist but this ride will be her toughest yet.

She said: “I did London to Paris in July 2015 over four days for Alzheimer's Research UK, with my late nana in mind. I did the C2C in 2016 and didn't really do a big ride last year so felt I was ready for another. I'm putting the training in but it will be hard, it will cross Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons."
