YESTERDAY, we had a small flyer delivered through our door, I am not sure by whom, as the flyer is headed ‘Darlington Borough Council’ but it informs residents to deal with Mowden Rugby Club.
The flyer tells us that there is a music concert on May 27 and parking restrictions are in place all weekend.
If we want parking permits we have to go to the stadium to pick a maximum of two of them up.
What happened to the agreement that ‘no residents will be inconvenienced’ that was promised at the conception of the stadium and this promise that was made by the council at a meeting with residents?
If we don’t trail down to the stadium we actually risk being given a £60 parking fine for parking outside our own property.
Why not just issue annual permits as was the case when the stadium originally opened?
Yet again the leaders of this council have broken a promise made to residents.
Mike Drysdale, Darlington
