I KNOW that I keep banging on about plastic in our oceans and what is being done about it but I have always wondered if we would be in such a dire mess if we used our recycled waste of cardboard and plastic in modern day incinerators which also produce electricity from heat generated.
Apparently modern incinerators can burn plastic at such high temperatures that the toxins are eradicated.
Recycled plastic is second grade plastic unlike aluminium cans which remain top grade aluminium no matter how many times they are melted and reused.
Would the world be a better place by doing this as we are dumping 12 million tonnes of plastic into our oceans annually?
Although how ‘they’ come to this figure I am sure is pure guess work.
I am totally prepared to be shot down on this but something has to happen and soon.
