REGRETFULLY I do not think your correspondent (HAS, Dec 9) has any chance of a reply from Councillor Nick Wallis on the serious question of the future of Darlington library.
I challenged the same councillor some two weeks ago on a far more trivial matter about the high pricing of ice cream tubs at the new Darlington Hippodrome. His silence is deafening.
I guess, in his defence, he might not read the Echo (although he often has his picture in it) so I am challenging anyone on the Darlington Council to defend the high cost of the tub.
It could be a good one for Councillor Bill Dixon to get his teeth into – and I don’t mean the ice cream.
I estimate the cost per tub from the supplier is 30p. The ice cream is good quality, though, and I hope it didn’t melt in view of the recent electrical failure!
