RALPH Musgrave’s suggestion to punish killer drivers with a lifetime ban may sound like a solution (HAS, Oct 19).
However one has only to watch television programmes such as Police Interceptors to see that many drivers simply ignore the fact that they have no licence and continue to drive illegally.
A lifetime ban will not keep killer drivers off the roads but simply tempt them to continue to drive without a licence.
