ISN’T it ironic that NHS doctors make feeble excuses like ‘we are unable to recruit staff ’ (Echo, Oct 19) when giving the reason behind the closure of a dispensary in St John’s Chapel, Upper Weardale?
The fact is, if you don’t advertise posts in the right place you won’t find suitable employees.
All the Weardale Practice is doing is further isolating its patients, who tend to be elderly, can’t drive, and in some cases can’t access facilities easily.
Any advert for dispensary staff must have been placed in the Botswana Evening News, as I haven’t seen one.
