FOR those who enjoy a good comedy story I read a smashing one this week.
The latest jobs figures were released and apparently there are more people in employment since records began in 1971.
Yosser Hughes’ “Gizza’ job!” catchphrase has been made redundant and The Guinness Book of Records plan to devote an entire chapter to the Tory jobs market miracle.
But in fact the only miracle I can see is how the Government have got away with telling so many ‘porky pies’ (lies).
In 1971 if you worked one hour a week you were still unemployed.
In 2017 if you work one hour a week you are removed from the claimant count for one calendar month.
Also for the millions on zero hours contracts, commission only or on silly job centre Mickey Mouse courses they are all off the register.
Finally, you don’t have be a mathematician to work out by splitting one full-time job into four part time ones employment will soar to heights never before seen.
