WOULD you employ a criminal? (Echo, Aug 12).

The answer to that question is it depends on the crime or crimes they had committed.

Also, may I add it’s a double edged sword kind of question.

Many of us no doubt have employed people who in fact had committed crimes but hadn’t been brought to book.

If the employer is willing to give them a second or third chance and is given the full facts of their crime/crimes, well get on with it - as long as there are jobs out there for them and you don’t give a bank manager’s job to the likes of Ronnie Biggs.
