FEELING like a wanted a cup of tea, I called into a café. After being served the young lady who was in her teens said: “That will be £1.19, sir”.
I gave her £1.50.
She then asked how much change I wanted as the till wasn’t working, and she couldn’t work it out.
I thought she was joking but she wasn’t.
The question I’m asking is what are they teaching in the schools these days when a seemingly intelligent young lady couldn’t do a simple mathematical deduction?
