THE justice system puzzles me as I am sure it does others too. A man in Whitley Bay breaks into a guest house and batters a man to death with a wine bottle. At Newcastle Crown Court he was jailed for life and told he must serve a minimum of 15 years.

Surely murder is murder and a life sentence should mean life, or does it depend on who the murderer is, how the murder is perpetrated and whom the victim is? No doubt if the victim had been a young child, life would have been life with no release.
