I HAVE a teenage member of my family who is dependent on inhalers. He took his latest prescription to the chemist where he was charged £17 for two inhalers to take on holiday.
However, while on holiday he visited a chemist in Spain which sold the self same inhalers, made by the same company, over the counter at £12 for four.
Surely this is proof that the biggest danger to our own NHS is the cartel of drug companies which is holding this country to ransom in its quest for profit.
This one example also puts a question mark over the people who, while sat in well paid positions, do the ordering and do the checks. The NHS will never be will allowed to recover while profit overrides necessity.
