AS the reckless Brexit disaster that the Conservative Party has dragged us into unfolds, we are led to believe that the “hard” version has been kicked into the long grass, out of reach of the Tory Brexit extremists.
I suspect that after four decades of lies and half truths about the EU they won’t give up that easily.
So, a “soft” Brexit is now the flavour of the month among the two major parties and other smaller hangers on. This raises questions that have never been clearly and honestly answered: “What is the material difference between a soft Brexit and no Brexit? What does it mean for ordinary folk like me and is leaving the EU for a soft Brexit really worth the pain we are expected to endure?”
As one of the millions who are not trusted by the two major parties to make a considered judgement on these matters through a second referendum, I at least expect them to come clean on this!
