THE Islamist terrorist attacks over the last few months are starting to bring about the desired effects of the perpetrators.
There has been an increase of hate crimes since Brexit and then there have been the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester.
On Monday morning we awoke to see breaking news that a van had targeted Muslims leaving Finsbury Park mosque after prayers.
We cannot and must not allow terrorism, whoever carries it out, to be accepted.
We are all brothers and sisters on this earth and as such must learn to live together in tolerance of others beliefs.
Darlington has an organisation called Celebrating Communities which has been running for around two years. The aim of this organisation is to bring people from different faiths and ethnicities together to get to know each other and build upon what we have in common rather than fear our differences.
I urge people to Google this organisation and try to attend one of its meetings.
