A LEADING cycling team has been checking out a town centre circuit ahead of weekend of racing.
Brother NRG Pro Cycling sent two of its riders to inspect the conditions ahead of next month's Stockton Cycling Festival.
The team is set to compete in the festival’s finale - the Stockton Grand Prix on Sunday, July 16.
And riders William Brown and Jack Rees got kitted out and onto their bikes as they ramped up their preparations for the festival.
Mr Rees said: “Racing in Stockton is great because of the unique course that rolls out into some fantastic countryside scenery before a thrilling finish in the town centre. To have our families and friends here cheering us on makes it extra special.”
Mr Brown added: “The local crowds are brilliant with the support that they give us and the Grand Prix circuit is excellent. To finish down on the Riverside in front of such big crowds is a great feeling.”
They were joined on the High Street by Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture.
She said: “Having spoken to them, I know how much the team are looking forward to competing at the Stockton Cycling Festival and I would encourage everyone of all ages to come down and support all the riders not only at the Grand Prix but throughout the whole weekend."
The Festival takes place between Friday, July 14 and Sunday 16 with a wide range of events on offer.
