This exclusive show has a special resonance with those involved with historic and vintage clothing. Material Remains, examines fabric matter in varying states of wear and decay. Paralleling the observations commonly recorded by archaeologists, museum curators and conservators, Diana Winkfield’s work focuses on the analysis of the colour, fabric, shape, texture, condition and origin of an object to reveal a jumble of memories, which in turn unravel and weave both real and supposed stories.
