ABERFELDY is often called “Scotland’s Outdoor Adventure Capital” - and we’ve got the perfect base from which to explore it and stunning Highland Perthshire. The winner of our competition will stay at Moness Resort - a four-star hotel and 106 cottages set in 35 acres of manicured grounds. It’s the ideal holiday venue for couples, families or groups, offering the flexibility of self-catering cottages and hotel facilities.

Private and secluded, Moness is on the outskirts of Aberfeldy, made famous in a poem by Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns back in 1787. It’s less than an hour’s drive from Perth and situated on Scotland’s longest river, the Tay.

Leisure facilities in the resort include a swimming pool, spa therapy tooms for beauty and complementary treatments, a sauna, outdoor hot tub and games room. There is ample car parking.

The hotel was built on the site of a hunting lodge built in 1758. All 26 bedrooms are individually styled and offer a range of Deluxe, Superior or luxurious Suites.

The cottages have one, two or three bedrooms, many of them overlooking the Aberfeldy Hills and surrounding countryside. Fully furnished and equipped, they are ideal for family or other group breaks. All feature full kitchens with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and utensils. Guests have access to the Resort’s leisure facilities and restaurants.

Moness has two restaurants. The fine dining Flemmyng restaurant can trace its heritage back to the family which in the 17th century were governors of Inverary Castle, seat of the Duke of Argyll, chief of Clan Campbell. The Terrace bar and bistro, overlooking the pool, provide more informal dining. Cottage guests also have the option to self-cater.

Aberfeldy and the surrounding area offer something for all ages and interests, no matter what the time of year and whether you’re looking for adventure, cultural stimulation, wildlife watching or just relaxation. Within a few miles recreational opportunities include white water rafting, bungee jumping, canyoning, cycling, mountain biking, paintballing, walking, climbing, quad biking, off-road driving, wildlife tours, fishing and golf.
