SELF-DESCRIBED punk rock band Counterfeit raised the roof at the O2 academy in Newcastle last night as they embarked on their latest tour.

Entitled Together we are stronger’ the tour has seen the band preform at venues across the UK in addition to a string of upcoming European dates including Amsterdam, Rome, Milan, Hannover, Prague and Vienna. This is all before a highly-anticipated return to the UK for a set at Leeds Festival.

Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Jamie Campbell Bower, guitarists Tristan Marmont and Sam Bower, bassist Roland Johnson and drummer Jimmy Craig, Counterfeit is tipped to be one of the most talented, energetic and original bands on the scene.

The night kicked off with ‘dirty pop’ quartet ‘Faux’ from Southampton who set the tone of the night and had fans jumping in the pit to their catchy guitar riffs all lead by lead singer and vocalist Lee. Backed by guitarist Daly, Bassist Luke and drummer James the band brought a fresh new sound that connected well with the fans.

Next up was five-piece rock band ‘Tigress’ from Chelmsford, who switched around the tone and had fans going crazy for their upbeat, electric anthems that saw guitarists Tom Harrison and Sean Bishop climbing onto the speakers and jumping off in true rock and roll style.

Lead by vocalist Katy Jackson the band kept fans on their toes, punching the air, jumping up and down and then holding their phones in the air on Jackson’s demand.

After warming up the crowd the support acts departed to clear the way for Counterfeit. The lights dimmed and the band took the stage, led by lead singer and guitarist Jamie Campbell Bower who had the crowd eating from the palm of his hand from the moment he walked on stage, even jumping over the barrier and off the stage to dance and sing with the fans.

The band who signed to Xtra Mile Recordings on 28 November 2016 have been on fire ever since releasing their debut album Together We Are Stronger on March 17.

Counterfeit are not a band to be missed, their onstage presence is bursting with passion and devotion establishing a strong connection between the band and their fans. For upcoming tour dates visit www.therealcounterfeit.com
