Manics sign up for Newcastle

IN what is already shaping up to be a great summer of music in the North-East, 1990s rock icons Manic Street Preachers have confirmed they will be heading to Newcastle for Live From Times Square 2017.

As part of the two-week long festival of outdoor music in the city, the Manics will be performing classics from their significant backlog of timeless indie classics for a headlining show on Saturday, August 5. This follows the band's sell-out arena tour last year, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal 1990s classic album, Everything Must Go.

SSD Concerts' Steve Davis says: “We promised to deliver the best and the biggest, and with this second Saturday headliner confirmed, we're on our way to achieving that, but we're not done yet. Manic Street Preachers have sold more than ten million albums and have played just about every arena in the world. To be able to bring them to Newcastle in August is up there with one of our biggest achievements as promoters.”

Times Square is opposite the Centre for Life, Newcastle. Tickets fare £40. Box Office: http://www.seetickets.com/event/manic-street-preachers/times-square/1059624
