Live From Times Square event returns to Tyneside
THE organisers of last summer's epic outdoor spectacular Live From Times Square have confirmed the welcome return of the event which will next year see performances from indie legends James, Jake Bugg and the critically-acclaimed Haçienda Classical.
Taking place in Newcastle City Centre in July and August, viewers will see Jake Bugg, arguably the most exciting male singer/songwriters to come out of the UK in recent times, performing a headlining spot on Thursday, July 27, and will be swiftly followed by indie royalty in the form of one of Manchester's proudest exports, James, on Saturday, July 29.
FAC 51 The Haçienda and Manchester Camerata – the city’s experimental orchestra – are bringing back Haçienda Classical, featuring DJs Mike Pickering and Graeme Park, with a new soundtrack in what will be their Newcastle debut, on Friday, August 4.
Steve Davis, of SSD Concerts, says: “We were determined to maintain the momentum and give the region's music fans something bigger and better. It's not easy pulling a city centre gathering of this size together, but we are really happy with the line-up and the additional shows which are still to be announced. The atmosphere and crowd reaction from last year's shows are memories we'll never forget. The city was buzzing and that's what we want next year.”
