Elaine Paige on tour to Scarborough Spa
ELAINE Paige’s latest tour is a celebration of the songs and songwriters that have influenced her illustrious career.
Stripped Back, a 23-date series of concerts includes Scarborough Spa on Sunday, November 20, and will see her perform her most popular hits as well songs from her favourites songwriters.
Memory, I Know Him So Well and With One Look alongside Macarthur Park and Help will be featured.
Paige says: “I’m so excited about this series of concerts, this is going to allow me to do something completely different. A new show celebrating songwriters I love such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Harry Nilsson, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Sting, Lennon & McCartney, the list goes on. Their music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just mine. And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way, I’m doing these new shows.”
Paige has released 22 solo albums, four of which multi-platinum and nine gold, been featured on seven cast recordings and has had major worldwide hits with songs such as Memory from the musical Cats, and I Know Him So Well from Chess. She has starred in more smash hit West End and Broadway musicals than anyone else of her generation.
She continues to present the hugely successful weekly BBC Radio 2 show Elaine Paige on Sunday, which is devoted to musical theatre and film music, and continues to delight audiences of over 2.5 million listeners each week with its mix of music, news and interviews.
