Southern Tenant Folk Union play Stockton Arc
SOUTHERN Tenant Folk Union, the Edinburgh-based roots and folk string band, will be playing Stockton Arc on Thursday, October 20.
Past winners of the Americana Artist Of The Year award, the band have taken their music onto BBC1 TV’s prime political show The Andrew Marr Show, plus Irish TV’s world famous chat show The Late Late Show as well as onto stages at prestigious festivals (Celtic Connections, Belfast Open House Festival, Orkney Folk Festival, Belladrum Festival, Electric Picnic and many more).
Last month saw the release of the seventh STFU album Join Forces, which was written following the May 2015 general election result, and then recorded in June and July this year amid a quickly changing political landscape, something that has made the suite of songs seem timelier still. The band are; Rory Butler, acoustic guitar/lead vocals; Steve Fivey, cajon drum/percussion/vocals; Craig Macfadyen, double bass/vocals; Pat McGarvey, five-string banjo/vocals; Katherine Stewart, fiddle/vocals
