Sunderland prepares to Hacienda

MUSIC fans heading to the North-East for a one-off concert this month can enjoy a special rate at the region’s newest hotel.

On August 19, Sunderland’s Herrington Country Park will play host to Haçienda Classical – a one night tribute to dance music classics from the heyday of Manchester's legendary Haçienda nightclub.

The tracks, by bands such as New Order, Black Box and Marshall Jefferson, have been reinterpreted by the club’s original DJs, Mike Pickering and Graeme Park and will be played alongside the Manchester Camerata Orchestra with performances from the AMC Choir, New Order's Peter Hook and Happy Mondays' Rowetta.

The recently launched Hilton Garden Inn Hotel Sunderland, adjacent to SAFC’s Stadium of Light, is offering concert-goers an overnight stay in a twin or double room, with breakfast the following morning for £99. The 141 room hotel, which is the first of its brand to launch in northern England, boasts 141 bedrooms and suites along with a pan-American Karbon Grill restaurant.

General admission tickets include access to a Gin Palace, Prosecco bar, Mojito Tent and traditional bar, a coffee bar and food stations serving hog roast, noodles, crispy chicken and duck wraps and gourmet burgers. VIP guests will be able to relax in the hospitality marquee with secure enclosure and a dedicated food and bar service.

Tickets cost £35 for general admission and £100 for VIP and are available from http://www.ticketline.co.uk/hacienda-classical-northern-sessions#bio or through 0844 8889991.
