FOLLOWING its win of The British Theatre Guide award for Best Event 2016, Sunderland Stages have launched a third season of theatre performances in unexpected venues.

If you are looking for an alternative night out for Valentine’s Day, From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads at The Royalty is a darkly funny must see for any Bowie fanatic, and features a blistering soundtrack.

Further adding to the icons of music, punk fans can also enjoy Viv Albertine in Conversation with Marie Nixon as a part of the British Library Punk 1976-78 Exhibition at City Library. Gods and Mortals in Sunderland Minster, will play host to live music and contemporary interpretation of Indian dance and in Sunderland city centre a magical cosy caravan will take audiences on a journey through people’s dreams in Mobile.

Further performances explore themes of mental health and sport doping at Sunderland College and Arts Centre Washington, and the programme also include an enchanted seaside tale with music and puppetry for families at National Glass Centre.
