AMY Macdonald has announced her first UK tour in four years, which includes a Tyneside gig. Still 29 years old, Amy has released three albums and sold more than five million records worldwide – including 1.5 million here in the UK. She has performed to more than three million people across the world and spent this summer splitting her time between the recording studio and headlining festivals across Europe.

Macdonald’s companies have made more than £5 million despite her taking the last year off.

The performer, from Bishopsbriggs, near Glasgow, burst onto the music scene in 2007 and is now sole director of two companies handling her songwriting royalties and touring. Her mum, Josephine, an accountant is the company secretary. Macdonald confesses that luxury cars are her biggest financial extravagance
