Enchanted Parks tickets on sale Tuesday (Oct 4)

TICKETS to NewcastleGateshead Initiative and Gateshead Council's popular after-dark arts adventure, Enchanted Parks, will go on sale at 9am on Tuesday 4 October.

This annual event, which sees specially-commissioned artists transform Gateshead’s Saltwell Park into a magical and mythical wonderland, has been extended to include an additional night to meet overwhelming public demand. Enchanted Parks will open on Tuesday, December 6 and run until Sunday, December 11.

Carol Bell, culture and major events director at NewcastleGateshead Initiative says: “The demand for tickets to Enchanted Parks is always high so I’m delighted we’ve been able to add an extra night. Almost 30,000 people will have the opportunity to visit Enchanted Parks this year to experience the newly-created art installations, performances, lighting and sculpture.”

The theme this year is inspired by the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. A hidden manuscript found inside Saltwell Towers unleashes a strange kind of magic over the park, as A Midwinter Night’s Tale slowly comes to life.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £2 for children under 16. Children aged three and under go free. Tickets are available from enchantedparks.com.

Enchanted Parks is funded by Arts Council England and Gateshead Council. For more information about Enchanted Parks, visit enchantedparks.com, like the Facebook page facebook.com/NGWinterFestival or follow @WinterFestNG on Twitter.
