Echo critic makes The Stage shortlist
SARAH Scott is delighted to have made it through to the final 12 nationally in The Stage Critic Search 2016, having been judged as the best submission from the North-East. Her mentor for round two will be Andrzej Lukowski from Time Out magazine.
A lifelong lover of theatre in all its forms, Sarah has reviewed theatre for the Northern Echo for the past seven years, reviewing opera for Newcastle's Evening Chronicle too.
Writing is very much a hobby, with Sarah turning her hand to a collection of adult versions of Fairy Stories in the pipeline. She loves acting too, and appears in shows at the People's Theatre, Newcastle. "Family, theatre reviewing and the pesky business of earning money mean that this is limited to a couple of shows a year," she says.
"I'm thrilled to have got this far in the process. I just want to get all the support and advice I can get and its awesome that The Stage are throwing a light onto the problems of recruiting, training and paying specialised Theatre Critics," adds Sarah.
The winner will be decided on the basis of one further review from each of the short-listed candidates.
