HIGHLIGHTS Rural touring presents When Trolls Try to Eat Your Goldfish! with Action Transport Theatre on Friday (November 27) 7pm, at the St Cuthbert's Centre, Church Hill, Crook, DL15 9DN
This action and comedy adventure is aged at families with children aged five and over from the pen of award-winning performance poet and actor Dominic Berry
A line of troll-prints leading into the deep, dark forest is the only clue when greedy trolls steal all the village’s pets (including Nikki’s favourite goldfish, Great Bumbleduke the Third).
On Saturday, December 5, The Baghdaddies, with support from Arcanum, will be appearing from 7pm until late at the same venue.
The Newcastle performers offer an uplifting evening of infectiously danceable music from around the world. The Baghdaddies play world music with a British knees-up sensibility. Balkan numbers, Caribbean grooves and Middle Eastern rhythms are played alongside the Roma wedding, brass band and gypsy music of Eastern Europe. They then throw into the mix influences such as ska, jazz and Klezmer with some Geordie touches and serve it up with blistering brass, rousing five-part vocal harmonies and a driving rhythm section.
Local youth band Arcanum will be support having already gained bookings for theMusicport Festival and are set to play the O2 Academy in the New Year as part of the National Soundwaves Music Competition.
Tickets for either show: £4 to £7.50 or group ticket £18. Box Office: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/highlights/ or 01388-765002
