Yorkshire TV vet stars in Thirsk's big night

ONE of the stars of The Yorkshire Vet series from Channel 5, Peter Wright, will make a guest appearance at the Christmas Bloomin’ Words Cabaret in Thirsk. A great line-up is confirmed for Bloomin’ Words Christmas Cabaret, tomorrow (Thursday November 26) at The Golden Fleece Hotel, Thirsk.

Caroline Nicholls of White Rose BookCafe says: “We are delighted to have been able to collaborate with Kate Fox, who is once again hosting this fantastic evening, with a great selection of Northern acts to entertain us. We are also thrilled that Peter Wright has taken time out of his busy schedule to make a guest appearance.”

Host Fox, BBC Radio 4's regular, poet, comedian and writer will present The Bronze with harmonies from Holly Taymar and Chris Bilton, accompanied by cellist Jennifer Chubb. Tales of life on the farm will be presented by Lydia Slack, a 23-year-old hill farmer’s daughter, who grew up on a Peak District Hill Farm and says: “I was brought up surrounded by hills, animals and not many people.” Slack is a natural story teller with a gift for engaging the audience with her observational humour. There will be more comedy from Nick Cranston while Peter Wright will add some readings featuring the gentle dales humour of James Herriot. Toe-tapping music is promised by Fiddles, Jonathon and Aidan Tulloch, and John Corcoran of Herd on the Hill. * The entertainment starts at 7pm for 7.30pm and is in association with White Rose BookCafe. Tickets from White Rose BookCafe, 79-81 Market Place, Thirsk £10 each, tel 01845-524353.
