COMIC Andy Ford, who has appeared on Jonathan Ross's ITV's Big Talent Show and the Royal Variety Show, will compare this year's Halloween Laffalang in South Shields.

Ford also starred for four years on Channel 5's award-winning children's show Havakazoo and his other television credits include Talking Telephone Numbers and on the Des O'Connor and Des and Mel shows and appearing with Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, West Life, Shania Twain and Enrique Inglesias.

Now a pantomime regular – with appearances alongside Henry "The Fonz" Winkler, David Hasselhoff, Claire Sweeney, Maureen Nolan and Michaela Strachan – this year Ford perform for the seventh successive year at the 1900-seat capacity Bristol Hippodrome in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs alongside TV and film star Warwick Davis.

Earlier this year Ford appeared in Waiting For Gateaux in Liverpool, a comedy play Laffalang writer Ed Waugh co-wrote with Trevor Wood. The comedian, who recently moved to County Durham for family reasons, has kept in touch with Ed and says of Laffalang:

"I've seen two Laffalangs and Ed's play Hadaway Harry. When Ed asked me to compere I was delighted and cleared the decks. I can't wait."
