Tom Robinson has returned with his first new album in 20 years – Only The Now, a record made with award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Diver – and a tour which takes in Sage Gateshead in November.

Drawing on his long, rich fund of experience, with a renewed energy and purpose from working with emerging artists on BBC Radio 6 Music, the first track from the album, Don't Jump, Don't Fall, is already out and features guest vocals from Mancunian artist Lee Forsyth Griffths.

Robinson is a songwriter and broadcaster born in 1950. His career started in 1975 and he enjoyed chart success fronting his own Tom Robinson Band (TRB) with hits such as Glad To Be Gay, 2-4-6-8 Motorway and Up Against The Wall. After releasing a further ten albums (which included the singles War Baby and Atmospherics: Listen To The Radio’ written with Peter Gabriel), he began hosting radio programmes for the past 13 years.

His touring lineup includes Faithless drummer Andy Treacey, producer/multi instrumentalist Gerry Diver, session guitarist Adam Phillips (Richard Ashcroft, Cher, Rod Stewart), and guest vocalist/guitarist Lee Forsyth Griffiths.
