A FAMILIAR face returns to Weatherfield and Coronation Street (ITV) – but it's not the one that Ken and Tracy were looking forward to seeing.

After organising a surprise 60th birthday party to welcome Deirdre back to the cobbles, Ken receives a visit from Bev, who has to break the tragic news of his wife's death.

He and Tracy are understandably devastated, but Simon's cold-hearted response leaves Leanne mystified – and slightly disturbed.

Meanwhile, Roy turns up at Cathy's house, determined to make her throw out her junk and declutter, but persuading her she has a hoarding problem proves more difficult than he thought.

Callum tricks Kylie into missing a counselling appointment before trying to persuade her to move in with him. She refuses, but struggles to make David believe her story, although the duo do end up joining forces to make Sarah realise how devious Callum can be.

Stacey is shocked in EastEnders (BBC) to learn her mum is getting married to Ollie the next day, but that's not the only issue between them as Jean panics when she spots the key around her daughter's neck.

Naturally, this just fuels Stacey's curiosity, and the wedding provides her with the perfect opportunity to go rifling through the bride's house for the lock it opens. When Jean catches her in the act, will Stacey finally learn the truth?

Elsewhere, Carol is in an assertive mood as she tries to get Max's life back on track, before gathering the locals together to discuss the disruption caused by redevelopment work in the area. Unfortunately, Ian takes a very different stance, and the debate becomes personal, prompting Carol to reveal that Jane is paying her to look after Cindy.

Nancy considers going to stay with Tamwar for a while, but Lee takes the news so badly, his sister starts to wonder if something is seriously wrong.

And Vincent invites the Cokers to join the Hubbards for a family meal, blissfully unaware that having Paul, Les and Claudette in the same room is unlikely to make for a relaxing atmosphere.

Paddy has always wanted what's best for Aaron in Emmerdale (ITV), and as far as he's concerned, that's not an affair with Robert Sugden.

So, when it looks like Aaron is about to fall back into his cheating lover's arms, the vet sends Chrissie an anonymous note advising her to keep an eye on her husband.

Robert quickly works out who is behind it, and he doesn't have to wait long to get his revenge. When Paddy falls into a pit at the farm, Robert simply turns on the new auger to fill it with grain, and ignores the vet's cries for help. Will anyone else get to Paddy before it's too late?

Over at the shop, Bob tries to pay for the flood repairs using the money Brenda has withdrawn for Gennie's memorial playground. However, his actions have unexpected consequences when Brenda puts the cash's mysterious disappearance down to her own failing memory, and starts to fear her brain tumour has returned.

Ross struggles with his feelings for Debbie, especially when Pete whisks her away for a romantic trip, Rodney makes an intriguing discovery about Tracy, and Rakesh's conscience starts to prick when Vanessa assumes her estranged father sent her the £10,000.
