A celebration of wildlife, rural traditions and the country way of life is going on show at a Richmond hotel

THE Coach House, at Middleton Lodge is to host a unique and compelling collection of photography, art and sculptures by three Northern artists inspired by the great British countryside. Print maker Sarah Cemmick and her artist and sculptor husband David Cemmick, alongside photographer Tracy Kidd, will hold an exclusive event on June 4 at the boutique hotel and restaurant, located just outside of Richmond, where the artists will debut their "Editions" collection, a celebration of wildlife, rural traditions and the authentic country way of life.

“The grounds of Middleton Lodge are on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors, with many of our guests sharing a passion for the beautiful countryside," says Sue Allison, marketing manager of The Coach House and Middleton Lodge. “The Editions exhibition is a great opportunity for people to enjoy and take in a selection of work by these incredible artists, a true reflection of this beautiful way of life. Our exposed brickwork in the residents' lounge is the perfect backdrop for the exhibition to really come to life and we are excited to share these unique interpretations of wildlife and the countryside with all our guests.”

Heavily influenced by rural England, Sarah and David Cemmick have become renowned for their portrayal of the wildlife that surrounds their Cumbrian home. Sarah, who studied at Sunderland University, creates extraordinary prints from Lino. Inspired by fluffy and feathered creatures, her collection of hare prints captures the true character of these wild and mystical animals.

Passionate about wildlife, David has spent the past 35 years being inspired by animals from around the world. He produces paintings and sculpture working from original field sketches, with his wax sculptures being cast as limited edition bronzes. With a world-wide collector base, David’s work is highly regarded, and the Queen presented one of his sculptures to the President of the United Arab Emirates following his visit to the UK in 2013.

Up and coming photographer Tracy Kidd will be showing a collection of photographs that encapsulate the true heart of British rural tradition that is the Trail Hunt. Fascinated by the powerful and lifelong bond between a pack of hounds and their masters, Tracy’s collection for the exhibition is a depiction of the loyalty, excitement, trust and unity that the hounds and humans share.

“All three artists bring a unique set of skills and talent to the exhibition," says Sue. "Tracy’s powerful photographs really shed a new light on the hunt, while to have such esteemed and highly regarded artists such as Sarah and David Cemmick exhibiting at The Coach House is a fantastic opportunity. We hope that this exhibition will be the first of many to come.”
