Snow White on Ice, Billingham Forum Theatre

THE stage at Billingham Forum’s theatre was turned into an ice rink for a performance by The Russian Ice Stars. The ice stars have all been champion skaters.

Some children in the audience had come in princess costumes. It was amazing, but some parts were a little scary. Snow White (Valeria Vorobeva) was really graceful and her dancing was brilliant.

There were hula hoops, bubbles, juggling and really good ice dancing, including some flying bits. Some parts were sad, but the ducks who rescue Snow White (Ekaterina Bokiy and Vladimir Arkhipov) were very funny. It was good when Fairy Florrie (former TV chef Rustie Lee) interviewed the ducks. She came on in between scenes to explain the story.

There was some great dancing when Snow White and the evil queen (Svetlena Kuprina) spun around at the same time and the Prince (Valdis Mintals) could spin very fast on the ice. The woodcutters (who weren’t dwarves) were funny.

If you liked Dancing On Ice then this is for you. It is a bit like a pantomime, but also a bit like a ballet.
